Turning Awareness into Action
As summer is here, we’re reaching out to invite clubs, teams, and individuals to take part in a meaningful national initiative this fall. Orange Cap Day returns for its fourth year this September—a chance for the Canadian swimming community to come together to raise funds and awareness for National Truth and Reconciliation Day through the sale of custom orange swim caps.
Since 2022, over a hundred clubs have taken part, helping raise more than $24,000 in support of Indigenous swimming programs. These funds are now being used to launch a mentorship initiative designed to empower Indigenous youth in competitive swimming.

Funds raised through this campaign have helped support the North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) and are also being directed toward the development of an Indigenous coaching mentorship program. This initiative is a collaboration between the ASC, the Canadian Swimming Coaches Association (CSCA), and is being led by Leanne Sirup of the Duncan Stingrays.
Each year, we forward 100% of the proceeds to the Aboriginal Sport Circle and work closely with them to identify programs that foster long-term impact in the Indigenous swimming community.
