Finz vs. Speedo Sizing – What You Need to Know

We often get asked how Finz suits compare to Speedo in terms of sizing—especially when swimmers are choosing between Aquafit and Training styles. So, we did a side-by-side comparison of popular styles, all labeled size 36 (equivalent to a women’s size 10), and here’s what we found.

Speedo Training vs. Finz Aquafit (Both Size 36 / 10)

Fit Verdict:
The Speedo Training Suit (Super Pro Back) and the Finz Aquafit are very similar in overall sizing and length. When compared side-by-side, these suits line up almost exactly, making the Speedo SPB a reliable size match for the Finz Aquafit.

What This Means:
If you’re switching between these two brands in the same size, you can expect a similar fit and feel for Finz Aquafit suits. Great news for swimmers who need backup suits or prefer variety in their gear rotation.

Finz Training Suit (Max Back Long Torso) vs. Speedo Training Suit

Fit Verdict:
The Finz Max Back Long Torso in size 36L is approximately one full size larger than the Speedo SPB 36 and measures 1.5–2 inches longer in the torso.

What This Means:
If you’re used to Speedo sizing and trying on a Finz Max Back Long Torso, expect a roomier, longer fit. Ideal for taller swimmers or those who prefer a less compressive feel through the torso.

Finz Training vs. Finz Aquafit (Both Size 36 / 10)

Fit Verdict:
The Finz Max Back Long Torso is about 1.5–2 inches longer than the Finz Aquafit in the same size. The key difference lies in the back style—the Max Back offers more coverage and therefore fits a bit roomier overall.

What This Means:
Even within the same brand, style matters. A Max Back training suit will feel more generous than the more fitted Aquafit cut, even if the tags say the same size.

SwimExpert Tip: Always Consider the Cut

When choosing your suit, remember it’s not just the number on the tag—back style, torso length, and cut can all influence how a suit fits and feels in the water. When in doubt, come try them on! Our SwimExperts are always ready to help you compare styles and find the suit that feels just right.
